Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has decided to conduct the Civil Services Examinations/Indian Administrative Services (IAS) Examination on August, 2016-2017 across the country.

Indian Administrative Services is one the Typical exams of India. Every year a lot of candidates have been appeared for this reputed preliminary exam. This will lead a tough competition for students.

Therefore, to secure good marks, it becomes necessary for each candidate to beware of IAS Prelims exam syllabus and exam pattern. This will help you in performs well in this exam.

UPSC IAS 2016-2017 Preliminary Exam (Screen Test) Scheme/Exam Pattern:

Since it is mandatory for every candidate to secure the minimum marks in IAS 2016-2017 prelims/CSAT, so as to get the hall ticket of Main examination, applicants have to work hard and start preparation from today, published by ‘Hindustan Jobs Portal’.

IAS Prelims 2016-2017 will be comprises in two papers: Paper-1 and Paper-2. Both of them will be objective type (In Hindi and English) and carry 200 marks. Time duration will be two hours for both the papers.

Candidates have to pay attention on the syllabus/topics as we are about to explain here to get good marks and get place in merit list.

General Studies Paper – I:
1. General Science.
2. History of India and Indian National Movement.
3. Indian and World Geography – Social, Physical and Economic Geography of India/World.
4. Current Events of National and International importance.
5. General issues on Environmental Ecology, Climate change and Bio Diversity.
6. Social and Economic development, sustainable development, Poverty, Inclusion, Social Sector initiatives, Demographics, etc.
7. Indian Polity and Governance – Political system, Constitution, Geography of India and the World.

General Studies Paper – II:
1. Interpersonal skills including communication skills.
2. Logical reasoning and analytic ability.
3. Decision making and problem solving.
4. English Language Comprehension skills (Class X level).
5. Basic Numeracy of class X level (Numbers and their relations, Orders of magnitude, etc.).
6. Data Interpretation (Graphs, Charts, Data sufficiency, Tables, etc.).
7. General mental ability.
8. Comprehension
